To make the correct installation of the shower it is necessary to separate the right materials and tools. Generally speaking, you will need the following necessary tools and materials:

How to install electric shower? Check it step by step!
With the necessary tools at hand, now we are going to show you step by step how to install an electric shower in your work.
Step 1 – Turn off the electrical current
First of all, the first step is to make the installation of the electric shower a safe activity for you or for the professional who will perform this function.
Therefore, go to your switchboard and turn off the circuit breaker for the electric shower circuit.
As an extra safety tip, we recommend placing it on the power switchboard or warning all residents or people on site not to touch the switchboard and run the risk of accidentally turning on the circuit breaker during installation.
Step 2 – Power Test
Even turning off the circuit breaker on the distribution board, we recommend that the second step is to check that power is actually not reaching the shower circuit. For this, the professional must have a neon test switch or voltage detector.
Step 3 – Start the installation
To start the installation, you must start by assembling the electric shower. Before buying the shower, it is important to know in advance which voltage your network is: 127V or 220V, cable section and breaker amperage.
Knowing this, you should check on the shower packaging if it is compatible with the characteristics of the network.
In the shower body, fit the shower pipe, pass the thread sealing tape to prevent leaks.
Pass the thread sealing tape clockwise and make approximately 5 to 8 turns. Next, fit the shower body onto the pipe (also known as the shower arm). Remember to also pass the thread sealing tape on the shower arm pipes before installing it on the wall.
Step 4 – Fix the shower head
Installing the shower head on the wall is simple. Before fitting the shower head, clean the wall thread, pass the thread sealing tape clockwise and make approximately 5 to 8 turns.
Then screw the shower arm to the wall. Leave the shower very firm, but without forcing. Also make sure the shower head is aligned so that the water falls straight.
Step 5 – Pressure reducer
This is a step that may be included in the installation of the electric shower depending on the property’s water pressure. As it is something that varies in each construction, it is an additional step.
The installation of a pressure reducer is done to prevent the appliance from being damaged by water pressure.
It is a small object, similar to a disc and a small hole in the center, which is placed in the water inlet of the equipment. This helps relieve pressure in hydraulic installations with very strong pressure for the shower.
Step 6 – Electrical connection
As we saw earlier, you must check that the gauge of the power wire and the circuit breaker belong to the same power of the electric shower. In this step, also identify that the ground wire is connected to the grounding system.
For simplicity, we recommend using porcelain connectors. A very useful model is the 10mm² porcelain connector for 3-wire connection.
On the first screw, you must place the shower cable, on the central screw the ground wire and on the third screw the other shower wire.
In this case, the grounding system is usually the green cable. To secure the wires securely in the connector, use a Phillips screwdriver.
On the other side, you must screw the power cables (red wires) and in the center the other ground cable (green wire).
For this connection, strip the ends of the wires and connect each wire one by one.
To have safe connections (mainly for devices that have water very close to the wires) be sure to use waterproof wire connectors.
Remember: the distribution board must be turned off.
It is also possible to make this connection of the cables with insulating tape. If this is your option, remember to seal the wire connection well.
Step 7 – Accessories
Another very cool accessory for connection available on the market is the Wago 221 shower connector. In this system, you should need three pieces of connectors, to make the connection of the wires in pairs.
Step 8 – Finishing and testing
After installing your electric shower, now it’s time to finish and test that it is working properly.
For finishing, there are several solutions for embedding the wiring in the electrical wiring box on the wall. It is important to protect the connections so that they are not in direct contact with moisture.
Afterwards, you can also connect the shower hose and install a bracket screwed to the wall.
To see if everything is ok, go to the distribution board and turn on the breaker. Then, open the shower valve on the “cold” temperature to test if the shower is working.
Then turn off, adjust the temperature and reopen the shower valve. Enjoy the best bath.
